On October 26, 2017,Chef Kaye made a special visit to Chef Merlo’s Culinary Arts students. Chef Merlo entered an online media contest to promote the relationship between Sullivan University and High Schools in the Tri-State area, and our school was picked by Sullivan University to win a luncheon for over 90 students!

Chef Kaye works for Sullivan University as a Pastry and Baking Arts Chef high school student representative. Five years ago Sullivan asked Chef Kaye to travel to high schools and represent Sullivan University and give students advice on college and promote the National Award winning culinary program, and she took the offer. When she came to our school she introduced herself and explained what she does. Before getting into the demonstration Chef Kaye provided tips for college and then made a dessert in each of Chef  Merlo’s classes called Orange Mousse, this dessert had chocolate graham crumble at the bottom, and the flavored mousse topped with a crispy tuille wafer and orange segments. This experience was a remarkably expansive event for Culinary Arts students at Clintondale.
